Hi Tim,
Any chance of an English translation of “WordPress Themes lokalisieren”?
I have translated with a web translator but the results are poor!

Hi,
I made a Dutch translation some days ago, and can be found here.
Tomorrow I will read your entire post (yes, I can speak Dutch, German and English) and I might even try to translate it into Dutch with poEdit. It would be great if all (new) theme’s would be able to translate this easy. Maybe we could work something out to promote this stuff with the WordPress audience

@Ainslie:
Yes, I can do do that. But not right now. Maybe this weekend. Can you act as my proofreader? I will send you my draft before I release it.

With pleasure Tim,
It seems this should be aimed at English speakers so will be glad too. Just mail me when you are ready.

I’ve changed the file (cs_CZ.mo) a bit. I also added *.po file to the archive.

Does anyone know where to get the Taiwan Traditional Chinese .po and .mo files?
Thanks
12.09.2006 um 20:23 Uhr
hi,
what I did:
- xgettext for each php file to generate the corresponding *.pot files
- poedit and translation of each po file to generate the coreesponding *.po and *.mo files
-small successfull test (copy index.mo to fr_FR.mo changed accordingly the translation of my theme)
my question is
how can I merge all those translated *.po files in one big myproject.po file with unique messages so that I can generate my fr_FR.mo file?
(I tried to work with msgmerge without succes…)
Can you help me?
Can you explain me what was your method to generate your de_DE.mo file?
How did you do?
Did you merge partial po files?

after more investigations, I found that a
xgettext –keyword=__ –keyword=_e –default-domain=mytheme –language=php *.php –output=mytheme.pot
is a possible way to get the unique mytheme.pot file from all the php files in the current subdir with unique messages.
Is the way you followed?

Hi Marc,
as I didn’t use xgettext I can’t help you with that tool.
I used poEdit on Windows.
A short guide on localizing wordpress themes is here.

@StoiBär:
Was funktioniert deiner Meinung nach nicht?
Ich habe eben lokal mit WP 2.1 das Theme getestet und mir ist nichts aufgefallen.
